I've been thinking about that "haint blue" from the front porch post...
In the past I've been inspired by deep earthy tones of reds, pumpkin, browns and golds. But that lovely blue keeps calling to me... a beautiful shade of robin's egg perhaps would lighten things up in my living room; which is now a dark red with white trim and has been for the past 7 years. It's time for a change, a time to mellow out with some cool blues.
This is a happy blue chair.
A prefect color for a bathroom.
This robin's egg is dress is so pretty.
Hmmm... maybe I should dye my hair this lovely indigo...ehh..
I wouldn't have this pretty, young face and those eyes to go with the hair; so I think I'd better pass.
Blue inspiration is everywhere!
Greenish/blue... nice.
Oh, I love periwinkle.
Collection of old blue glass bottles in different hues.
Wow.. this soft pale blue is so peaceful.
What colors are inspiring you lately?
Oh, I'm a periwinkle girl. Aqua, too. And deep, deep indigo... can't forget indigo! Water colors have been my favorite since I got the Crayola 64 box (with sharpener!) Lately magenta and paprika have been coming in a close second.
ReplyDeleteI had a bad experience with a Crayola 64 box of crayons... in the first grade. The same mean teacher that told me that my mom was going to hate my Valentine because I couldn't cut a heart shape very well.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, she was shocked that I took so many crayons to school!
She took my box and pulled out almost each crayon and read the name in disgust out-loud to everyone... "Thistle!" the children chuckled... I was horrified. She pulled out the few basic colors; stuck them in a bag in my desk and sent the rest of the box home with a note to my mom. Telling her; Anet doesn't need that many colors in the first grade.
Miss Keys was freakishly tall, skinny woman with a face of an old witch and wild black hair...and a crackly voice. Scary... I'm just sayin, that's how I remember her.
